I just found out about the new Planet Hulk dvd coming out!WTF! I had no idea this was even in production! I love the comic book, bad ass gladiator hulk kicking ass! cant wait to get that. Anyway, I'm a big Hulk fan, and heres a quickie i did before i started Boarding today. hope you all diggz! by the way, if Old Man Logan is in production please let me know, I want to work on it so bad!!! please!

So, i just got a PS3, but I have not time to play all the new games I just bought, like Killzone 2, Batman Arkam Asylum, Brutal Legend, Ultimate Alliance2, and Street Fighter 7. Anyway heres this bad guy i did for the script i co-wrote and im boarding right now, i did a few other designs, but were going to for of a "Last Dragon" "Sho Nuff" type villain. its going to be awesome, cant wait to show you my boards and ANimatics. Hey gang sorry for not posting enough but I've been super busy working. This year has been so overwhelming and Im so grateful for 08, from graduating this past summer to getting my first real job in the industry doing storyboards full time on the brand new Pink Panther and Pals show for the Cartoon Network airing in the fall of 09! hell yeah!  Anyway, heres a doodle i just finished of supe's and a ogre. Thats it for now buddies, I wish you all a safe and wonderful christmas and happy new year! Skadoosh!! until next year...

I like Hooks

This is the re-design of the old sailor from one of my pitches called A Sailors Tale. i love playing with curves and sharp edges when I'm designing a character. I'm going to draw some more using this technique. You gotta love that UPA style.Aww and this handsome fellow is for the short I'm currently working on right now called MONSTER P.D.: All Monsters Attack. It takes place in the future with a 1940's style thats why he's wearing the paper boy hat.

VENOM!!

Venom is one of many of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe, simple design but with alot of attitude. One thing I fell in love with about this character is that T-rex jaw he has. Freak'n awesome!!!




Here's the breakdown of Venom.
1) I sketched him out with a purple Prismacolor col-erase pencil, then I went over it with a .7 led mechanical pencil. I did'nt like the head I originally sketched so i drew another one in a post it note.

2) Once I'm satisfied with the sketch I import it into Flash and start tracing the sketch in my whack-ass wacom tablet using the brush tool.

3)Then I dropped in the color for his suit into the line layer. Then I selected the color, copied, deleted it on the line layer, added a new layer under it and placed in place the color. And I added a gradient.

4) Added shadow.....then I took a shit.

5) After my Mud Butt, I added the white on his spider symbol, eyes and added teeth.

6) Finally, I found a bloody tampon and used it as my background.

Hey gang! I know I havent posted in a while but I'm super busy with my Monster P.D. project. Good news, Theirs going to be more 3d backgrounds in the short. woot woot. cant wait to show em to you. Anyways heres the new and final design of Rook. I gave him holding lines and to sweeten him up I borrowed a texture from a Jose Agreda ilo. love his stuff.

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

As a kid i would always steel my dad's newspaper, and after reading the comics I would trace most of the pictures with a pen, and then hang it on the refrigerator. Today, to warm up before a big session, I'll pick out an image from the web and trace over it in Flash.

Two weeks ago I picked Heath Ledger in all his Joker glory, but I never finished it. I heard the tragic news of his death from my gf Cristy. I couldnt belive it, but after browsing on a few tabloid sites I was convinced. So when I got home i decided to finish this piece, in honor of a great talent that was taken too early in his carreer.

Fresh out of the oven!

So I'm done with finals...kind of! i have 1 left and I don't have to turn it in till the beginning of next quarter. but other than that I'm done! Anyway' I just finished these two monsters for my short, their really detailed...well for me they are, these two probably took about 3 hours, from research/sketch/to finish. Hope you guys and gals like them, and let me know what you think about it. thanks for stopping by.

This first one is a Namor-ish One-eye Giant Mermaid man who is leading the attack from the sea in my short.When i first did this sketch i did it without the beard, but somewhere along the way i added it.

Alright this one took me a while. This is the Giant Ass Turtle from the previous post. That design on his back is Aztec and he has a giant hand print on the shell, and that's from the main villain...MANO PELUDA!!!!! that's it for now, ill post some more goodies soon!

THis is a Super Pyrate, originally he was going to be a Super Nazi but its pretty much played out. so Super Pyrate is better.

Heres a sneak peak at what im currently working on , among other projects and trying not to fail my classes!! hope you likes.

The logo came out pretty cherry but i might change the font to something more cartoony.
This is part of the first scene in my short. Where the main characters are introduced. Its a bar inside a tug boat. I was going for a more darker mood for this piece, but then i remembered i hate dark rooms in cartoons. So i muted the colors a bit to fit the flash back scenes.

Heres a close up of some of the pictures on the wall. There all of the hero of my short. The tattooed Sailor and his victories and tattoos. my fav. is the one on the bottomleft hand corner, he has a tattoo of Peter Parrot from the Tex Avery short 'I Wanna Be A Sailor".


And this is one of my instructors over at A.I. His name is Mike Williams, and he was in the navy so i thought i would put him in, hes going to be in the bar fight scene. hope he doesnt mind.
