Fresh out of the oven!

So I'm done with finals...kind of! i have 1 left and I don't have to turn it in till the beginning of next quarter. but other than that I'm done! Anyway' I just finished these two monsters for my short, their really detailed...well for me they are, these two probably took about 3 hours, from research/sketch/to finish. Hope you guys and gals like them, and let me know what you think about it. thanks for stopping by.

This first one is a Namor-ish One-eye Giant Mermaid man who is leading the attack from the sea in my short.When i first did this sketch i did it without the beard, but somewhere along the way i added it.

Alright this one took me a while. This is the Giant Ass Turtle from the previous post. That design on his back is Aztec and he has a giant hand print on the shell, and that's from the main villain...MANO PELUDA!!!!! that's it for now, ill post some more goodies soon!

THis is a Super Pyrate, originally he was going to be a Super Nazi but its pretty much played out. so Super Pyrate is better.

Heres a sneak peak at what im currently working on , among other projects and trying not to fail my classes!! hope you likes.

The logo came out pretty cherry but i might change the font to something more cartoony.
This is part of the first scene in my short. Where the main characters are introduced. Its a bar inside a tug boat. I was going for a more darker mood for this piece, but then i remembered i hate dark rooms in cartoons. So i muted the colors a bit to fit the flash back scenes.

Heres a close up of some of the pictures on the wall. There all of the hero of my short. The tattooed Sailor and his victories and tattoos. my fav. is the one on the bottomleft hand corner, he has a tattoo of Peter Parrot from the Tex Avery short 'I Wanna Be A Sailor".


And this is one of my instructors over at A.I. His name is Mike Williams, and he was in the navy so i thought i would put him in, hes going to be in the bar fight scene. hope he doesnt mind.

Posting Dont Pay For My Froot Loops!!

Hey fellow bloggers! Ive been super busy with school and my new job at Oddbot, as a Assistant/designer/ storyboard artist. Its fun and the artist there are the tits! Im learning new things everyday, thanks to Chris Hamilton, who took me under his wing and for giving me a chance. hes a hell of a guy and one of the best bosses Ive ever had. Shout outs to Todd Oman whose skills are off the roof! A lot of inspiration at that studio!

Anyways heres my flash animation, Monster P.D., that I finished in 15 hours. I got best of quarter for it, but I think it was mostly for design and not animation. Its still work in progress and its going to be 100 times better, and longer when its done in March!



This one Im doing for my Advanced Animation class that I have this Quarter.Its an animatic and I got the dialogue from "Liar Liar". Ill post it up when its done.

Wolverine!!!

Hey peeps Im Back!! I drew this wolverine last nite at Pricillas Coffee Shop in Burbank, and I threw some quick color on em in Photoshop. Its a rough piece that I plan to finish. I was thinking of doing a post of my favorite Marvel heroes, so heres the first one. Ill have the rest up later. I'm still tweaking them up. Alright hope you guys dig!!

Colored sailor

My buddy Alexis Picar inked, and painted my sailor during class. It came out pretty cherry!! I still need to tweak the design but he still did a pretty awesome job. well done piggy. And i signed him on to work on my short...but he doesnt know yet, heh.

"A SAILOR'S TALE"

WHAT UP FELLOW BLOGGERS??

So today during class, I was "so-called" meditating, but I usually draw or think what I want to draw. But any who, as i "meditated" i came up with this idea for a short,where an old sailor is telling his story of his younger days to some kids(but in a twisted John K way)and as soon as I saw the images pop up in my head i wrote them down, then a short while after i drew them. Im still working on the story and the character designs, but I want to do this short fast, maybe in a month and a half. wish me luck.

This is the old sailor, messing with different costumes and what not, but I

like his design, so I'm gonna stick with it. I still dont have a name for him, maybe

you kids can help me with that.

Ahh and this is the same sailor, but in his younger days where he fought Nazis, Giant Squids, Spies, Dinosaur's, Giant Samurai robot, and other fun stuff. As you can tell, still work in progress, I really dig his torso, but I still havent found the right arms or face for him. But the one thing he is going to have is all those tattoos!! Yay for ink!!

Animation

This is a short animation I did for my Character Animation class, using Maya, i got Runner up for this sucker...woop woop. Okay so the assigntment was to do a 60-90 frame animation in the Warner Bros. style, and giving the ball personality. hope you all dig it.




I did this 2 years ago, or maybe 3, cant remember.It was my second time animating, so thats why its pretty crappy. enjoy.

New Quarter! New Instructors! New Work!

So today was my first day of my new quarter at school, and so far I'm pretty excited. My morning class is going to be fun! Im taking 3D Character Animation with one of the best Animators working out in the industry, David J. Sung. Hes done work on God of War,Charlottes Web, Iron Man (still in production), and many, many more. Ive been lucky to have been in his class before for my intro to 3d Animation in 3D Max, and oh man, that was a tough class! I think hes one the best instructors at my school and the school is really lucky to have him. So anyways I'm really excited because for our final we have to make a 20 second cartoony animation in the old Warner Bros. style!!! Dope....so that means I get to use any style, from Tex Avery to Bob Clampett, Chuck jones to Friz Freleng!!! I already started thumbnails for this baby!! Any ways Its just my first day, I still have 2 more days left of brand new boring classes, Like Rigging, Compositing 2, and Character Modeling( well maybe not this one, I hope to learn something!!)

Anyways heres some work I've been doing for my Gf elementary. Im redesigning their mascot!! WOOP WOOP! How fun. SO this is a Rough stage, its not the final design but it looks 100 times better than the one before. This is my warm up before I go into battle!!
